My favorite line from AQ is when Kate says to Bogie, after his whine to her because she threw out all of his booze. He said it was only human nature to help him cope with all the stress of the gunboats and the damn bugs. She said [paraphrase], “Don’t you think maybe one reason we are put here is to try and rise above our human nature.”
